Prerequisites​

Before connecting:

  • Active Etsy shop
  • Artbase account on any paid plan
  • Shop owner permissions on Etsy

Connecting Your Shop​

Step 1: Open Channel Settings​

  1. Go to Channels in Creator Hub
  2. Click Connect Channel
  3. Select Etsy

Step 2: Authorize Access​

  1. Click Connect with Etsy
  2. You'll be redirected to Etsy's login
  3. Sign in to your Etsy account
  4. Review permissions requested
  5. Click Allow Access

Step 3: Select Your Shop​

If you have multiple Etsy shops:

  1. Choose the shop to connect
  2. Confirm selection

Step 4: Initial Sync​

After connecting:

  1. Artbase fetches your recent orders (last 30 days)
  2. Products are imported for mapping
  3. Initial sync may take a few minutes
  4. You'll see orders populate in your dashboard

What Gets Synced​

Orders​

Every Etsy order includes:

  • Order number (Etsy receipt ID)
  • Customer name and email
  • Shipping address
  • Items purchased
  • Order total
  • Payment status
  • Shipping/tracking info

Products​

Your Etsy listings sync for:

  • Inventory mapping
  • Sales attribution
  • Product-level analytics

Customers​

Customer data from Etsy orders:

  • Name and email
  • Purchase history
  • Order value totals

Note: For immediate sync, click Sync Now in channel settings.

Managing Connection​

View Connection Status​

In Channels, your Etsy connection shows:

  • Connection status (connected/error)
  • Last sync time
  • Shop name
  • Order count

Manual Sync​

To force an immediate sync:

  1. Go to Channels
  2. Find Etsy connection
  3. Click Sync Now

Disconnect​

To remove the Etsy connection:

  1. Go to Channels
  2. Click on Etsy connection
  3. Select Disconnect
  4. Confirm disconnection

Note: Disconnecting doesn't delete synced orders—they remain in your history.

Order Identification​

Etsy orders are clearly marked:

Troubleshooting​

Connection Failed​

Symptoms: Can't complete OAuth flow

Solutions:

  1. Clear browser cookies for Etsy
  2. Try different browser
  3. Ensure you're shop owner (not just member)
  4. Check Etsy account is in good standing

Orders Not Syncing​

Symptoms: New Etsy orders don't appear

Solutions:

  1. Check connection status (may need reauthorization)
  2. Click "Sync Now" to force sync
  3. Wait up to 1 hour for automatic sync
  4. Verify orders are paid/completed on Etsy

Missing Order Data​

Symptoms: Order appears but missing details

Solutions:

  • Some fields may not be available from Etsy API
  • Digital order addresses may be limited
  • Contact support if critical data missing

Token Expired​

Symptoms: "Authorization expired" error

Solutions:

  1. Go to Channels
  2. Click Reconnect on Etsy
  3. Re-authorize access
  4. Sync will resume automatically

Privacy & Security​

Data We Access​

Artbase requests only necessary permissions:

  • Read shop orders
  • Read shop listings
  • Read buyer info (for order fulfillment)

Data We Don't Access​

  • Etsy financial account details
  • Shop payment information
  • Etsy Messages
  • Other shops on your account

Token Security​

  • OAuth tokens encrypted at rest
  • Tokens refreshed automatically
  • Access can be revoked anytime from Etsy

Best Practices​

Keep Connected​

  • Leave connection active for continuous sync
  • Reconnect promptly if authorization expires
  • Monitor for sync errors

Manage Inventory​

  • Map Etsy products to Artbase variants
  • Enable inventory sync to prevent overselling

Limitations​

What Artbase Can't Do​

  • Create Etsy listings

  • Process Etsy refunds
