Example Bio:
Sarah Chen creates bold abstract paintings inspired by the Pacific
Northwest's dramatic landscapes. After studying fine arts at RISD
and a decade in graphic design, Sarah returned to painting full-time
in 2018.
Working primarily in acrylics, Sarah builds layers of translucent
and opaque paint to create depth and luminosity. Her palette draws
from the moody grays and deep greens of coastal forests.
Currently based in Portland, Oregon, Sarah is exploring a new series
focused on tidal patterns and coastal erosion.
